During the GTTI-SPS Thematic Meeting on Multimedia Signal Processing the demo presented by Sara Baldoni (University of Padova) and Anna Ferrarotti (Roma Tre University) won the Best Demo Award. The 2024 edition of the GTTI-SPS Thematic Meeting on Multimedia Signal Processing, organized by the University of Trento, was held in Andalo (TN) on January 22 and 23.
The demo “Quality of Experience for Interactive Immersive Media” showcased an interactive communication system for immersive media analyzing the users’ Quality of Experience (QoE) in collaborative tasks. Our goal is to analyze the relation between the Quality of Interaction and the amount of exchanged information in immersive cooperative communications. We realized an asymmetric cooperative Treasure Hunt game in which a VR user and a remote user have to solve clues based on cards hidden in the virtual space.
This study is realized in the context of the Video Quality Experts Group – Immersive Media Group (VQEG-IMG), in cooperation with ITU-T, for the definition of a new recommendation for subjective assessment of eXtended Reality (XR) communications. This work was partially supported by the European Union under the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) of NextGenerationEU, partnership on “Telecommunications of the Future” (PE0000001 – program “RESTART”’).
